The Tropical Gastroenterology & Nutrition Group Limited (TROPGAN) is a leading Zambian non-profit research and clinical organization dedicated to improving digestive, liver, and nutritional health in tropical regions. Originating from pioneering research collaborations in the early 1990s, TROPGAN formally incorporated as a non-profit company limited by guarantee in 2005.
With registered offices at 26 Esther Lungu Road, Kamwala South, Lusaka, and a presence at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), TROPGAN combines state-of-the-art clinical trials, community outreach, and capacity building to tackle challenges such as severe acute malnutrition, gastrointestinal cancers, liver diseases, and environmental enteric dysfunction.
Through strong partnerships including Queen Mary University of London, Zvitambo Institute, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation TROPGAN remains at the forefront of innovative research to transform health outcomes for vulnerable populations in Zambia and beyond.
